The Town of Halifax seeks qualified candidates for the full-time position of Regional Public Health Nurse for the Board of Health. This position will be expected to enhance the existing capabilities and to achieve the mutual goals of the Public Health Departments located in Halifax, Bridgewater, West Bridgewater, East Bridgewater, Middleboro, and Raynham.
The primary responsibilities of the Regional Public Health Nurse include responding to public inquiries and public health issues, organization of public health education and outreach, implementing public health programs, performing communicable disease reporting (MAVEN), investigating infectious disease outbreaks; organizing immunization clinics; emergency planning and response; and other similar duties as necessary to improve community health. The Regional Public Health Nurse will also be expected to maintain knowledge of current developments in public and environmental health.
Bachelor’s degree in public health or nursing and at least three (3) years of experience in a public health related field, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
The successful candidate must hold a valid MA driver’s license, MA Registered Nurse License, and First Aid/CPR certification. Applicants are subject to a background check (CORI) as a condition of employment.
Pay rate: $72,800 to $81,900 per year (dependent on qualifications). This position is eligible for benefits.

*This is a grant-funded position. This position is currently funded until June 30th, 2027. Potential for extension beyond June 30th, 2027, is based on available funding and operational needs.
