The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Halifax, Massachusetts seeks to appoint on an at-will basis a highly qualified attorney/law firm as Town Counsel. The successful appointee should meet or exceed the qualifications stated herein and, in general, should be readily accessible to authorized public officials, exceptionally experienced in municipal law and scrupulous in adhering to required standards of professional conduct and ethics, and committed to rendering sound legal advice with suitable objectivity and professional detachment.

The Town of Halifax, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from Contractors for the repair and replacement of the ramp at the Halifax Town Hall, 499 Plymouth Street, Halifax, MA in accordance with the plans and documents prepared by AAK/Architect, Inc. and supplementary materials.
 
The Project consists of:
 
Repair and replacement of the ramp at the Halifax Town Hall
 
The work is estimated to cost $55,000 (including all alternates).
 
Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 §44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149 §§26 to 27H inclusive.
 
General Bids will be received until Monday, May 3 at 3:00pm and publicly opened at the Halifax Board of Selectmen's Office, 499 Plymouth Street, Halifax, MA 02338 at that time.
 
General bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the Town of Halifax, Massachusetts.
 
Contractors: please note that a 50% payment bond will be required as part of any contract.

The Town of Halifax is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide fraud risk assessment services. Request for Proposal forms may be obtained at the Board of Selectmen’s Office, 499 Plymouth Street, Halifax, MA 02338 or the Town’s web site - halifax-ma.org - Proposals will be received at the Board of Selectmen’s Office until 3:00 p.m, on Monday, May 3, 2021 at which time no further proposals will be accepted. The Halifax Board of Selectmen will make the award for this contract. The Town of Halifax reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.

The Town has concluded its bidding process for Premium Unleaded Gasoline and for Diesel Fuel for July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020 and for two possible additional one-year periods (July 1, 2020-June 30, 2021 and July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022). Results are as follows:

When the Town issues an IFB for gasoline and diesel fuel, all subscribers to the mailing list will be notified.

The Town maintains an 8,000 gallon tank for gasoline and a 6,000 tank for diesel fuel, both at 60 Hemlock Lane.

Heating Oil

The Town of Halifax participates in the annual bid by Plymouth County. Please contact the County for more information.

Electricity Generation

The Town's current electricity contract is with Engie at a price of $0.09268 per kWh. The contract ends in December 2021.

Natural Gas

The Town's current natural gas supplier is Sprague Operating Resources. The contract ends on July 31, 2020. The price is $0.593 per therm. A new contract for the period of August 1, 2020 to July 31, 2022 has been signed for $0.591 per therm. A contract for the period of August 1, 2022 to July 31, 2025 has been signed for $0.591 per therm. The Town of Halifax participates in these contracts via the Silver Lake Regional School District.
