Hydrant Flushing Notice - October 2023

The Water Department will start flushing the water mains on or around Monday, October 23rd, 2023, and will take approximately two weeks, weather permitting, to complete. The first week will cover south and west of Route 58. The second week will cover north and east. The mains will be flushed between the hours of 8 pm and 12 am (Midnight), Monday through Thursday. Some flushing may occur during daytime hours. 

The work will continue until the entire system is flushed. Water users should check the water for discoloration before using it to wash light colored clothing. The discolored water is safe for human consumption as it is caused by harmless sediment that has been stirred up from the bottom of the mains. The discoloration will clear up in a short period of time.
