New Museum Pass Reservation System - April 9th, 2025
Starting today, April 9th, 2025, the Library’s new museum pass reservation system is now available! Patrons may access the system by visiting the library’s website at www.holmespubliclibrary.org and clicking on the Museum Pass Reservations link in the main navigation menu.
In December of 2024, the developers of our previous system, which we’ve had for many years, announced that they would be closing their doors, and that their products would no longer be available starting January 1st, 2025.
Despite the sudden and unexpected news, the library staff and IT & Communications office have been actively working on the implementation of a new system that meets these core objectives:
- Complies with website accessibility standards to ensure access from all types of devices used by patrons such as computers, laptops, smart phones, and tablets.
- Offers an intuitive interface that simplifies system navigation and the process of reserving museum passes.
- Integrates seamlessly with our existing systems for improved service delivery.
- Utilizes modern technology infrastructure for improved performance and security.
After exploring our options and consulting with our partner libraries, we have decided to move forward with MuseumKey, a product of OCLC.
We hope this new system enhances your public library experience and encourages you to explore the valuable educational and cultural museum pass offerings available to all patrons.
