Stormwater Management

The purpose of Halifax’s Stormwater Management Bylaw (Chapter 146) and its regulations is to protect, maintain and enhance public health, safety, environment, and general welfare by establishing minimum requirements and procedures to control the adverse effects of increased runoff, decreased ground water recharge, erosion and sedimentation, and non-point source pollution associated with new development and redevelopment of land.
