Please be advised that there will be a public hearing on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 8:30pm (or after the end of the Finance Committee meeting, whichever comes last) in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room in the Halifax Town Hall to hear proposals for amendments and/or requests to the Wage and Personnel By-law.

All proposed amendments and/or requests must be submitted in writing to the Wage and Personnel Board no later than Monday, December 30, 2019 with a copy submitted to the Town Clerk in order for the proposed changes and/or requests to be considered at the Annual Town Meeting.

Duties & Responsibilities

The three-member Wage and Personnel Board oversees the adminstration of the Town's Wage and Personnel By-Law which covers the wage and benefits for all employees of the Town other than elected officials, School Department employees and employees covered under collective bargaining agreements.

The Wage and Personnel Board uses the following communities for comparison purposes: Acushnet, Berkley, Carver, Dighton, Freetown, Halifax, Hanson, Lakeville, Rochester, and West Bridgewater.
