East and West Monponsett Pond Beaches - Parking Enforcement Notice

news-and-notices

The East and West Monponsett Pond beach parking lots (Fourth Ave./Lingan St. and Holmes St./Route 36) are available to the public and require a valid parking permit. Parking permits must be visibly displayed within the vehicle at all times while utilizing the beach parking lots.

Residents who have obtained a recycling sticker for the current year may utilize their recycling sticker as their parking permit. If you are enrolled into the Town's curbside collection program but have not obtained a recycling sticker for the current year, you may pick one up at the Recycling Center, 917 Plymouth Street.

Residents that are not enrolled into the Town's curbside collection program and do not have a recycling sticker for the current year may obtain a parking permit from the Board of Selectmen's Office, 499 Plymouth Street, by completing a parking permit application. Residents must provide proof of residency, such as a state-issued driver's license or identification (ID) card, and a copy of their vehicle registration for which the parking permit will be applied to. All parking permit applications must be submitted in-person to the Board of Selectmen's Office along with the required documents.

At this time, parking permits are only available to Halifax residents. We are actively working to establish a process and policy that will allow non-residents to obtain a parking permit.

Any vehicle parked at the Fourth Ave./Lingan St. or Holmes St./Route 36 beach parking lots without a valid parking permit (or recycling sticker for the current year) will be issued a citation in the amount of fifty dollars ($50) by the Halifax Police Department.

If you have any questions, please contact the Halifax Parks Commission by e-mailing [email protected].
