Volunteers Needed for Boards and Committees

The Board of Selectmen is seeking residents interested in serving on the following committees:

Finance Committee - currently two vacancies and expecting a third after the town meeting - making decisions about the Town's finances and associated matters never ends

Elementary School Committee - one vacancy and important given the challenges the Committee and staff face

Council on Aging - one vacancy with the Council working with the Director to provide services during the pandemic

Library Trustees - one vacancy with the Trustees working with the Director to provide services to residents during the pandemic

Cultural Council - Two vacancies with a third vacancy coming up due to term limits; those three vacancies need to be filled in order to approve grants for local programs

Parks Commission - two vacancies with opportunities for plenty of projects if all seats were filled

Youth and Recreation Commission - two vacancies and help needed to set up programs while the pandemic continues

Residents interested in volunteering can download a "Talent Bank" form from the Town's web site - http://www.halifax-ma.org/board-selectmen/files/talent-bank-form-2020-0 - complete it, and sent it to the Board of Selectmen's Office or come by Town Hall and fill one out in person
