Other Post Employment Benefits
Under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 32B, Section 20, the Town must provide information to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, on an annual basis, concerning "Other Post-Employment Benefits" (OPEB). That information consists of an analysis of the Town's obligations for contributing to the cost of health insurance and other benefits for current retirees and potential future retirees. This information is developed every other year per the recommendations of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) 45 and now GASB 74/75.
