Pope's Tavern Closed - Services Still Available

As of 1:00 PM, March 13, 2020, Pope’s Tavern, used by the Halifax Council on Aging for offices and services, will be closed to the public for an indefinite period of time. This decision was made jointly by the Board of Selectmen, Town Administrator, Council on Aging Director, and Fire Chief.

We are 100% committed to serving our senior population during this time of crisis; to that end, the entire staff will be providing transportation to medically necessary doctors’ appointments, deliver Meals on Wheels (Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays), and phone check-in and will hold appointments as needed at the COA building such as those for the attorney seniors meet with on a regular basis. The appointments with the income tax specialists will happen off site. The SHINE counselor will not be avaialble indefinitely.

If you or someone you know needs assistance, please contact the Council on Aging at 781-293-7313, during normal business hours. For emergencies, please call 911.
