Your Emergency Plan
The Federal Emergency Management Agency recommends that:
- You make a plan
- You build a kit
- You be informed
- You be involved
But you cannot do this just once. Periodically review your plan, kit, information sources and how to be involved. Think about what disasters may affect you, your family and your area. How will you need to do with each type of disaster? How have your family's needs changed due to changes in health, medications, age, employment, and other circumstances? Do you have a pet? Have the items in your kit "aged out" and need to be replaced? If you took a training course, how long ago was it and has any certification expired?
