Road Opening Permit

The Halifax Board of Selectmen issues road opening permits to ensure that all road cuts are done in conformance with Town standards and because any work on Town property including road layouts cannot be done without permission from the Town. The fee for a road opening permit is $5. The permit expires upon completion unless otherwise determined by the Selectmen

NOTE: If a Trench Permit is needed, applicant must complete that process with the Building Inspector and pay the Trench Permit fee. Upon issuance of a Trench Permit, the Board acts on the road opening permit but no fee is charged. More information and the application are available below.
